Structural, optical, and mechanical characterization of PMMA-MXene composites functionalized with MEMO silane

Processing and characterization of PMMA-MXene composites were investigated. γ-Methacryloxypropyltrimethoxy (MEMO) silane was used to modify the surface MXenes improve compatibility between polymer. The FTIR analysis revealed formation a chemical bond MXene MEMO silane, while XPS confirmed presence silicon in functionalized MXene. PMMA with non-functionalized prepared using solution casting method. Tensile tests showed that, compared neat PMMA, Young’s modulus increased both by 22.1 27.6%, respectively. As result coupling matrix surface-modified MXenes, tensile strength also about 37%. In addition, optical spectroscopy higher absorption for composite short-lived fluorescence emission intensity sensitive crumpling nanosheets.
